Following the optimistic trend of destinations in 2022, Covid restrictions were removed in Croatia and the Czech Republic last weekend, allowing greater ease of access for non-EU and EU travellers alike.
On Saturday the 9th of April most Covid restrictions were removed in Croatia, as stated by the Croatian National Tourist Office and confirmed by the FCDO on the Foreign Travel Advice page.
Some of the Covid restrictions removed include the rule requiring mandatory face masks in indoor areas, all Covid restrictions in hospitality venues, curfew restrictions in hospitality venues, and limits on capacity in public events, public gatherings and public transport. Face coverings will still be required in medical and social care settings.
Travellers coming from non-EU countries (including the UK) will still be required to fill out an online form and present one of the following to enter the country:
- A Covid certificate – this includes the NHS certificate and must have been administered between 14 and 270 days from the second dose of the travellers’ vaccine,
- Proof of a booster dose – this currently has no time limit,
- An antigen test taken within 24 hours pre-departure,
- A PCR test taken within 72 hours pre-departure; or
- Proof of recovery between 11 and 180 days pre-departure, or proof of recovery with a single dose of the vaccine between 11 and 270 days pre-departure.
Covid restrictions were removed in the Czech Republic as well following Saturday the 9th of April. These were removed for UK and non-EU travellers, with the restrictions removed for EU travellers earlier this year on the 18th of March.
It has been confirmed by the FCDO that travellers will no longer require a form or proof of vaccination in order to enter the Czech Republic.
The country’s interior ministry added, “As of 9 April 2022, the protective measures regarding the conditions of entry into the Czech Republic in relation to the epidemic of Covid-19 have been suspended.
“Entry into the Czech Republic is no longer subject to any special epidemiological conditions to prevent the spread of the disease. The entry-ban for foreigners from third-countries and the obligation to prove infection-free status have been lifted.”
