On the 28th of September, the FCDO officially lifted the advice against all but essential travel to Egypt, Maldives, Sri Lanka.
The lift of this advice from Egypt, Maldives, and Sri Lanka is excellent news both for the travel industry and the consumers.
Removing the conflicting advice not only means that travellers can have more confidence travelling to these destinations, but it will also ensure that the booking process can happen as efficiently as possible, with no concerns around finding travel insurance to cover this.
This means travellers can focus on finding the best holiday for them with some great travel businesses, and the travel businesses that operate in these destinations can provide their consumers with confidence in their booking.
Though FCDO advice is not a restriction, it can have a lot of impact on consumer confidence, and despite these fantastic destinations being open, fewer would have felt assured they could travel there, despite the removal from the red list. So, now, all consumers can feel confident travelling to these beautiful destinations with clear advice.
This change is a very welcome one as the COVID-19 risks were assessed and consumer confidence can be restored in time for the exciting new changes to come as we approach the October half-term.
Many in and out of the travel industry are excited about travel to Egypt, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, now the FCDO advice has been removed, including PTS members.
