Excellent news came out this week as Finland has announced and removed its Covid-related entry requirements for travellers around the world.
From Friday the 1st of July, all travellers, both vaccinated and otherwise, have been allowed to enter the Scandinavian country of Finland without any of the previously instated Covid entry requirements. The entry requirements were previously still in place for the UK and other countries outside of the EU.
This means that no travellers need to provide evidence of their vaccination status, nor do travellers need to take a pre-departure or arrival Covid test in order to enter the country.
This is an excellent step that many are celebrating and suggests an equally great surge for the travel industry in the colder months of 2022 as well as the already high-in-demand travel of the summer months.
These changes have already been updated by the FCDO on the Foreign Travel Advice page, which travellers can refer to for all destination requirements, Covid-related and otherwise.
“You don’t need to provide proof of your vaccination status for entry to Finland,” the FCDO Travel Advice page stated. “Entry requirements for Finland are the same for all travellers, regardless of Covid-19 vaccination status.”
The FCDO also added some advice for travellers surrounding keeping up to date with restrictions as they may change. “No travel is risk-free during Covid. Countries may further restrict travel or bring in new rules at short notice, for example, due to a new Covid-19 variant,” they said.
“Check with your travel company or airline for any transport changes which may delay your journey home. If you test positive for Covid-19 in Finland, you will receive instructions from the Finnish authorities and will be asked to self-isolate. You may also need to seek treatment there.”
