After previous changes to travel restrictions in March, the Greece entry rules are now being removed completely for all travellers and arrivals from early next month (May).
It was announced on Monday the 11th of April by Health Minister, Thanos Plevris, that Greece entry rules will be removed entirely. This includes travellers from EU and non-EU countries including the UK, plus vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers alike.
From Monday the 2nd of May, travellers will no longer be required to present either proof of a full course of vaccination, or a negative Covid test in order to enter Greece. Though the FCDO have yet to update this excellent news on the Foreign Travel Advice page, we recommend keeping an eye on that page for any extra details that may come out before May.
From the 2nd of May, Greece entry rules will be removed alongside the suspension of the Covid Pass. This means that visitors and locals who are fully vaccinated will no longer need to provide their Covid Pass as proof of vaccination when entering venues. Unvaccinated or recovered people will also no longer need to provide a negative test or a recovery certificate to enter venues.
From the 1st of May Greece will also remove the mandatory use of masks for visitors and locals alike. This means that alongside the removal of the Greece entry rules, most Covid-related measures internally will have been removed by the 2nd of May.
This update comes after the requirement for a Passenger Locator Form was removed on March the 15th, so travellers would only need to present proof of vaccination or a negative test.
Thanos Plevris also clarified that these measures will be reviewed again in September of this year after the summer period has passed.
